Arne Jacobsen Library

The archive management is built on Laravel and Vue with an appealing Danish design created by AM Copenhagen - Strategic Design Studio.

The solution hosts a collection of works by the Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen. The library is used by Arne Jacobsen Design I/S to preserve the design heritage and the originality of the products as well as to extend the knowledge about Arne Jacobsen and his work. The solution is cloud-native, built on Laravel, Vue, and Elastic search. It executes a pixel perfect implementation of the original design.

How we
did it.

The close collaboration among AM Copenhagen — Strategic Design Studio, Arne Jacobsen Design I/S, and co-alliance created a clear mission where we wanted to build a digital design library based on minimalism and simplicity. Therefore in the process of wireframing, we focused on simple features and navigation to secure a simple use of the library for the organization in Arne Jacobsen Design I/S.

Interface.

The design from AM Copenhagen — Strategic Design Studio made it easy for us to create an integrated pixel perfect layout, consisting of multiple breaking points to work seamlessly across high definition screens, laptops, tablets and smartphones. We have used the latest technologies and trends to make the design easy to use, fast and work smoothly. We use SVG’s for animations so in just a few lines of code with a couple of bytes we can make animations that work across all devices.

User
administration.

The system has different user levels with its unique accesses. The super-admins has access to the whole library and access to create new users on all selectable levels. The editors have access to edit everything and create users on their level or below, The viewer level only has access to view items, not view files and conversations and is not able to add users. We have a complex matrix of rules of what different users can do that can be modified upon request from the end customer.
